We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager – U.S. Tax to manage and review U.S. individual and business tax engagements. The ideal candidate will have strong U.S. federal and state tax knowledge, excellent client communication skills, and experience managing tax professionals and multiple engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review U.S. federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Handle individual, partnership, S-Corp, C-Corp, LLC, trust, and other U.S. entity filings.
- Manage tax engagements from planning through completion.
- Provide U.S. tax planning, consulting, and advisory services.
- Research and interpret U.S. tax laws and regulations.
- Develop tax strategies to minimize liabilities and ensure compliance.
- Review staff and senior-level tax work for accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with IRS/state notices, audits, and tax authority inquiries.
- Monitor U.S. tax law changes and advise on client impact.
- Manage client relationships, deadlines, workflow, and deliverables.
- Train and mentor junior tax professionals.
- Support business development and identify additional client service opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with professional, ethical, and firm standards.
Requirements
- 8–10+ years of U.S. tax experience with individual and business tax returns.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- EA (Enrolled Agent) required or actively pursuing, as per company policy.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and multi-state taxation.
- Experience reviewing tax returns and supervising tax professionals.
- Excellent English communication and client management skills.
- Proficiency in U.S. tax software such as UltraTax, Lacerte, Drake, ProSeries, CCH Axcess, or similar.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
- Experience with U.S. public accounting or outsourced/offshore tax firms is preferred.
